Symptoms to bird flu

Signs of infection in poultry, backyard flocks and pet birds may include: Sudden death with no prior signs. Low energy or appetite. Purple discoloration or swelling of various body parts.

BUT - if you've had freezing temps lately and your rooster has darkening of comb and/or wattles and is NOT acting sick, think frostbite, not bird flu! In other words, birds with AI don't get sick, they get dead.

I've read that although unlikely, birds can sometimes recover from LPAI(low-path avian flu) because it affects the respiratory system rather than HPAI (high-path avian flu) which affects them neurologically. Please correct me if I am wrong.
 
Just heard on the local news that our local landfill, 4 miles from us, will be taking the dead poultry that died from the bird flu. I assume truckloads of....They also mentioned that cattle have died of this flu.
Yikes.
