Anybody feed their peafowl table scraps? My grandmother always fed scraps to her chickens and an uncle fed them to his peafowl. They would fight over the food that would otherwise be throne away. I never new of any health problems but I was pretty young.

Yep I do. All of my birds get scraps all the time, and rarely do they fight. The peacocks are perfectly happy to eat them and they are still perfectly healthy. I don't know how anyone else feels on the topic, but I would say go ahead and feed them.

All my chickens eat table scraps. I figured the peafowl will also. You just got to make sure nothing is spoiled rotten. I figure if it's good enough for my children and family, it would be healthy for the bird also

My outside dog gets any meat but the birds get the veggies & fruit. They all go crazy over watermelon rinds & tomatoes.

We definitely feed the peafowl leftovers. One time we even fed them an old pumpkin pie and they loved it! Old tomatoes are good too, old grapes, they love leftover cooked cabbage, old broccoli...

mainly stuff you have in your refrigerator that nobody is eating on. We have given them tons of different things and they will eat spaghetti sauce...A bunch of things.

For some reason mine don't like apples or citrus though and I have no idea why.

yes peafowl love them, just remember to many treats can affect egg production....mine don't get them during laying season for that reason

Our birds love stale bread and corn chips, over ripe bananas, and wilty lettuce and carrots. They also like grapes, and they LOVE dandelions! Both the leaves and the flowers, but especially the flowers.

We hand feed them treats to get them to be more friendly and not as skittish around humans. They are easier to handle when they need medication, or to be transported, things like that. We have one mature male who will actually hold still and let you stroke his neck and beak.
