tagging a new chick ?

whats the best way to tag a newborn bird for id. i have one that was laid on my annv. if its a girl it will be annie and if its a boy it will be andy. BR turkey.

I usually use a small piece of colored yarn lightly tied around the leg.

I use tiny colored zip ties fastened very loosely but can't come off, then monitor the fit every week and reapply as needed.
