About six months old - not crowing, nor laying eggs. What do you think, there are small wattles.

I'm not very experienced with purebred silkies but it looks female to me. Are you sure she's not started a sneaky nest somewhere?

Oh yay I have a white bearded Silkie, so I've been a bit thrown off by the non-beard. I know it took my white one about 7 months to start laying and she is a *very* occasional layer (like one egg a week - but I love her, she's sweet and funny). She went broody and just had her first hatch this weekend (my white Silkie), so she's enjoying her time showing the little ones everything they need to know in life.

OMG, I came home from work yesterday (Monday) and she had laid her first egg!!!!! So egg-cited for her !
