I'm in California and we are about to have several days of 100+ degree heat, two at 111 and 110! I'm worried about my chickens and the best way to take care of them in the heat. They have plenty of shade and access to water, but I am still worried about them overheating. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Lots of water and shade are really good. You can also give them frozen fruit. One of the ways chickens keep cool is dust bathing. You can use sand, ash from a fire, peat moss. You can get an old tire and fill with one of those.

Thank you!! I will do all of the above!! I have a veggie planter full of soil with no plants yet, I will let them in it so they can bathe. They were in it one day having a great time but they are not always in that part of the garden. I'll freeze grapes, one of their favorites, and fill their water with electrolytes:)
