Taking chicks out of the incubator to dry.

My incubator is FUULL 46 to be exact. 46 fertile eggs out of 52 is pretty good just to have 1 roo..Huh ? I'm worried about them being to crowded when they start to hatch. When do you think is the soonest I can take them out to put under a light to dry. My plan is to have a already heated brooder so I can take the chicks out put them under a the light and disgard the old shell giving the others more room. I don't think its to full because the turner which is optional holds 47eggs so I think I'm within its capacity.

Sounds like you are going to have your hands full!!! What breeds are you hatching and what day are you on?

You can put them in the brooder once they are completely dry. Sometimes this can seem to take forever. It's better to leave them for about 24 hours, but you're right, it might get kinda crowded in there!

I think you will here lots of different answers. If you lift the lid you will let your humidity out. Some leave them in for 24 hrs. I personally leave them in until they can move around good and snatch them out quickly. They just seem to fluff out a lot faster but some people will tell you not to do that but I don't lose a lot either. Just my experience.

Jackie is right, you will probably hear a lot of different answers to your question. Honestly, you should just take any info you learn on this forum and figure out what works best for you as you hatch. There are lots of experienced hatchers on here and they all give great advice!!
