I decided to take the plunge and put 38 Coturnix eggs in to incubate Saturday afternoon. So far we are holding between 99.5 and 100.4 (yaay for wafer thermostats) with about 45% humidity. We will see how this turns out. They are mixed colors, so I don't know what I will be getting. I am certainly a wee bit giddy about this whole venture.

I think once this batch is out, I will get a better thermostat for my next set. I need to get one for the brooder I am building, so I will probably get two and replace the wafer with a decent one.

Good luck with your hatch. I also started 34 coturnix eggs Saturday, My first time. Can't wait to see how many hatch. Need to get busy building a brooder.

All I can say is wow, I'm just planning on one 30"X 60" with a divider in the middle and I'll use a heat lamp to keep them warm.

Its the down side of having a nice shop. I tend to go overboard.
