Its very funny. I have 2 mamas in my Basement Brothel. They were both broody, so I gave them some eggs. Silkie mama hatched one first, and just on day 25, as I replaced one bad egg with a chickie for Cochin mama, I noticed the last egg was hatching! I was about to throw it away, the reason I got another chick in the first place.
Now, they have 3 chickies between them and they are acting like old "Mother Hens". They sit next to each other while the chickies run in and out, swapping mamas. Every time I go look at them, it seems a different chickie is under a different mama. Its very cute. I can almost hear them gossiping... "oh no, here she comes again. If she tries to do anything, just peck her. That's what I do!"
