just an update on Rosie the Rooster. He is still in with the girls, has been there for about 2/3 weeks now. Definitely much better since we got him, you can walk around the coop and run now without him freaking out, he will just walk away to get away from you, without as much of the stressful clucking noises. If you walk towards him he will still freak out though so I havent been doing this at all. Note that this is all without any extra effort on my part, I have been just doing general maintanance around him and also scattering seeds for the girls.
We now have access to a dog crate so I think I will get that ready and bring him inside. Although it is obvious with more time he would improve on his own, I think that would just be to a level where he isnt completely freaked out my humans and can tolerate coming closer to us when we scatter food. I scattered some meal worms close to him today and I think because I was quite close to him the only thing he could think was to get further away from me, he paid not one bit of attention to the ground with the mealworms. So a bit more intensive socialisation is needed me thinks.
Further updates to come
