This is my second set of chicks. The first I got at 7 days old. Both turned out to be roosters and I had to find them a new home (I'm broken hearted). I got 3 New Hampshire pulleys (sorry auto correct won't let me put what they really are so they are pulleys). They are 8 to 10 weeks old and scared to deth of me. I am sitting in the coop with them for at least an hour a day and trying to associate myself with snack time. My roos were pets and I want my hens to be the same. Any ideas?

Hi there! And welcome to BYC!

Have you ever tried meal worms? When I was trying to tame mine, I started when they were very young.. just by sitting with my hand hanging inside the brooder... for a loooong time every day. But since your chicks are older... I'd say take some meal worms into the coop. Toss a few on the floor... a safe distance away until they grow to like them. Gradually toss them closer and closer to where you are sitting. Once they aren't bothered by your presence, try hand feeding them to them. They'll probably grab it and run, but that's ok. Just keep at it. Good luck!

I have crickets for my quail that I've been doing that with. I guess I'm not giving them a fair chance because I want their love NOW and I'm Copa ring them to my super tame roos that I miss incredibly. I'll keep working at it. Thanks for your advise :)
