taming squab?

Hi! I have two diamond doves who've just hatched a chick. This is the first time I've had doves, and I'd love to tame the new baby. He/she's only 3 days old, and still so tiny and delicate that I feel like I should wait to start handling him/her. What age is best for taming the squab? And is there anything I need to worry about pertaining to the health of the mother? The only chicks I've been around are chicken chicks, so this is all very new to me. Any and all tips are welcome!

I have white homing pigeons (a lot more aloof than doves) and I use sunflower hearts and peanuts as hand feeding treats to win their trust. If you get the same results as me you will be pleased.
