Tapeworm poop?

Just discovered this poop under my flock of 6 white leghorns, approximately 14 weeks old. Was wondering if this is tapeworm poop or the feather follicles (if that’s even the correct terminology). They are very active and vibrant; they aren’t skinny and eat at a normal rate. The little flecks are actually completely clear; they look like shards of glass and are not moving. I live in North Carolina and we just had two days of torrential downpours.

Those are feather shaft particles. They are likely going through a juvenile molt at that age.

oh, thank freakin’ god. I get super paranoid after heavy rains; they all have DE mixed into their food and ACV in their water for today. Thank you.

I would not put DE in the food or ACV in the water. Neither is a preventive nor can they cure internal parasites. The DE can also cause respiratory distress. Just plain clean water is always best.

Thank you... I don’t put the DE in often, and the stuff I have is food grade (real food grade, pure white and all). I don’t sprinkle it in their coops or anything and I know that it’s all just supportive of a good biodome; I’m not under the impression that it will deworm or prevent... I also leave out two gallons of fresh clean water right next to the ACV water (I actually have about 40 chickens, the leghorns are separate bc they’re going to be my breeders).
