Hi all! I have a flock of 16 hens and 1 roo. I clean their water dish every morning and I found this floating in the dish. Is this tapeworm? I’m not sure what the appropriate treatment would be. I’m pretty positive that I know whuch hen is laying it because all winter so far I have one hen that perches on the water dish to my unsuccessful ways to keep her from perching there. Majority of my flock are molting which I know some dewormers can affect the feathers. However I guess it’s a good time to have to throw away what few eggs I get or should I just treat the one hen? I’d love to clean the coop out but it’s not easily accessible with the snow to do it right now. I could sprinkle lime and add more shavings. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance! Also, what about eggs I’ve collected?

That does not look like tapeworm to me - more likely excessive urates excreted. Tapeworm proglottids are small rice like segments.

Ohhh really! Thank you! I was all worried it was a worm and nobody seems sick or anything. However now I need to see what exactly to do for that. It’s like a gout?
