It has been quite some week here at our house! I started off with 34 chicks I purchased----22 from Ideal and 12 from feed stores. Those all arrived two weeks ago. Well, three of those died -----don't know why for sure.
Then this week, I had 4 chicks hatch from eggs two of my banty hens were sitting on!
I really didn't think any of the eggs were fertile, so it was a surprise. More are still in differing developemental stages, but I should know by early next week if I'll have more babies.
It really is more exciting to have chicks hatch from your own eggs. I believe the 4 I have are all EEs, which is what I was hoping for!
