I had a similar site Elvis events.com
It was a place where Elvis tribute artists can post their shows for free and where fans can search for those shows anywhere in the world for free.
It had a similar social media Element like yours
It was doing pretty well but it was a lot of work to keep up and very expensive because of the constant updates and I didn't want to put any more money, time and effort in to it so I shut it down. It was always just a hobby and a way of giving back to the Elvis community
It was supposed to be a user driven site with very little maintenance involved but that was not the case
