I haven't hatched chicks in a while. I got the bantam eggs from ebay and 3 of 12 hatched. I won't let my students name them until we know which are pullets and which are cockerels (as I can't keep the cockerels). I'm afraid the class favorite might be a male! It is a gorgeous chick. Two are black/grey/white feather-footed bantams and one is a solid black non-feathered foot bantam. I'd love to know sex and breed, if anyone can help me! The two feather-footed have been sparring, but the black solid is better at nabbing the mealworms...

#1 definitely male, probably a black Cochin

#2 seems female for now, maybe polish cross

#3 seems female, probably black Cochin

All guesses may be completely wrong!!!
Apart from the first being a roo. I'm pretty sure on that one! ;-)

Thx - I figured he was a roo, but he's so gorgeous and funny I was hoping otherwise!!
He and number three play a lot, so I'm nervous she might be a he, too!!
Thank you so very much!!!

I think the first and third ones are male. The third one has a smaller comb than the obvious first one but at the same time seems like too much comb for a pullet but then again from the picture it looks pale. The second chick looks like a silkie cross so it could be week or months before you can tell for sure.
