I have all girl ducks. 9 are established flock with ages 3,4, and 7 year olds. I added 4 new ones that are almost 10 weeks old now. First we did through the fence for a week and slept separate. Then we just finished a week of together all day in the yard ( with plenty space to get away from each other, 2500 sq feet) and at night they have been in same duck house ( converted shed). But the teenagers I put them in an xl dog crate which I estimate as only 6 sq feet. They fit ok but it’s been hot (85 today) and I think it would be better for them to be done with the crate. How ever they fight with the older ducks and I feel like I want to get a cot and sleep out there with them to make sure no one kills each other. Do you think one week was enough?

Can you divide the coop with a temporary wire divider? There will be some fighting, and the younger birds are outnumbered and most likely smaller.
that's a thought I just don't think I'm handy enough to do it myself and expect it to be sturdy. It's a 6x8 so 48 sq feet I guess the little guys need 1/3 of it and there are 2 doors so it's possible I will have to think about it, I have the green plastic kind of poultry fencing that's I think 4 feet high. I will try to figure it out. thanks
