Lots of info on new babies but not much on what to watch for with teenaged chicks.
Mine are now 5 weeks today. They are mostly feathered out though changing daily. I have them in the brooder box because my coop completion has been delayed with me getting bronchitis and it will be another 2 weeks probably before it is done, also have to work. The heat lamp has been turned off completely for over a week and they are doing fine in an air-conditioned room. I wish they could move to their new home sooner.
They are still on starter feed as 50# takes a while for 4 chicks to eat. They have had chick grit available since the 1st week, get rolled grains, a few sun seeds, some hard boiled egg, and weed treats, they seem to like those better than greens from my garden. Also an occasional trip outside, they will have more frequent field trips as I get to feeling better.
