How often do they lay? As well as Buffs?

Are Lavender and Blue the one in the same?

What is they laying range time?

Do they catch diseases easier than other breeds or just about the same?

I'll answer what I can...

Both my lavander and Buff orpingtons lay about four eggs a week.

I was told that Lavander orpingtons are rare, and a mix of blue and some other color.

lavender and blue are not the same color as blue is a 2 toned color and lavender (also called self blue) is a light solid gray all over (my avatar) as far as i know they are hardy

lavender and blue are NOT the same, lavender and selfblue are the same, i have 2 lavender orp pullets, they are so amazing! :)

Lavender (also called SelfBlue) is a one-tone color that is light-grey in appearance. It is true breeding in that breeding a Lavender to a Lavender will give you Lavender chicks all over the place.

Blue is a two-toned color that is darker in color. It is not true-breeding in that only part of your hatch will come out to be Blue. Your hatch will split three ways: Splash, Black, and Blue.

Edited to add: This is a reeeeeeeaaally short and sweet about Blue genetics. It is a bit more complex. There's a lot of really good resources here on BYC if you want to get your hands into the nitty gritty.

Note: Not my pics, not making money from them.
