Sussex-Rocks. Got two pullets from that cross and they're excellent.

Any Cornish hybrid is fantastic. Solid meat birds, good survival instincts, broody as they get.

I have probably a billion Bantam Cochin kiddos running around and every one of them is unique and lovely (completely useless, but very cute).

I've done a lot of mixes and like most of them. But, one totally accidental cross has just thrilled me. My Dark Cornish hen was in with my splash Ameraucana rooster, hid a nest in the blackberries and hatched a nice clutch. Really not the breeds I would have picked to cross, but I'm not one to turn down surprise chicks.

18 months later I have three pretty blue hens that lay blue-green eggs. Each is a great layer, and each has raised at least one clutch for me. The broodiest one I call Snake, cause that's how mean she is when she's broody

. She's wonderful and will be a keeper for me.

I'll see if I have a good pic of her on my phone....

Ha, that's exactly what my little girl (photo above) is! Spangled Bantam Cochin X Mille Fleur d'Uccle. One of my favorite birds!
Mine are always Columbian colored, I assume it must be dominant over the Millie fluer color, the second generation crosses are showing some slight gold markings on their backs and they are getting smaller. I love my little fluff balls.
