Telling a roo from a hen by wing development? Is this true? Is there a pic available?

I have read somewhere and saw a picture that you can tell a roo from a hen by how their wings are developing? Any truth to this? If so when can you begin to tell the diff? thanks!!
 
I was just shown (literally, like an hour ago) that on Salmon Faverolles the male will have longer feathers on the outer part of the wings, while the female has a more consistent length all the way across. NO idea if I explained that well, but it made sense when he was showing me.

yes it makes sense easunshine! i just couldn't remember which was which!! I think im goin to google it and see what i can find!! thank you for sharing your experience!!

This is an excellent source of info!! I dunno tht i will ever buy from a hatchery again tho sheesh!!!! :o)
