I recently purchased day old chicks. They are all females. I just wanted to know if there was a way to tell a difference between a Black Australorp, Black Minorca, & Black Jersey Giant.

Thanks for the help

At day olds, not much to tell.

Once they hit the 2 week mark - Black Australorps will have white/pink feet or soles. Jersey Giants will have yellow. As they mature, Minorcas will be skinnier and have white earlobes.

Other than that, not much really.

if they were sexed there still can be some boys. from everything ive read theres a very high accurance of people getting roos when they were supposed to be pullets...in a few cases i have read that people have gotten all roos but 1. so be on the look out for roos. heres some pics
