a couple years ago I got a 24 egg incubator. chicks mostly did not hatch and I figured because I had nothing to double check temp and humidity. So this year I got a hygrometer and turned on the incubator today. The humidity on incubator is 52 and the hygrometer is 55%. The temp on the incubator reads 37.2 but on thehygrometer is is 22.9. that looks like a real problem. I have the hygrometer controls on suction cups that are at the top of the incubator but they really reach down to the egg area. would I try to raise temp on incubator so that it reads right on the hygrometer?

Do you mean a thermometer? Thermometers are for measuring temperature and hygrometers measure humidity.

Yes I would go on the known to be correct calibrated thermometer regarding your temperature and ignore what the incubator is set at or saying. I have an incubator that’s just the same. I keep my thermometer & hygrometer at egg level though in various places.

Good luck with your hatching :fl
