Temperature Question!

Made an incubator today, it certainly is not a thing of beauty, but fingers crossed it will do the job! It is currently maintaining a temperature of 96.8-98 F. I've read it needs to be steady at 99.5. Is there a little wiggle-room for fluctuation? If so, how much wiggle room?

The wiggle room should be from 99 to 102 degrees. Hope this helps!

what type of thermostat you using ?? I have two homemade incubators one with wafer and other with reptile 500 thermostat ( love it ) tried water heater thermstat and it had to much up down temps.
