My four year old decided to look at the knob of my incubator thermostat a she put it, and somehow it magically moved from the mark I had on it. Temp. was 108F for what I assume 6 hrs. Will the 18 eggs I have in there be lost? they are Coturnix eggs.

108 for 6 hours? that's certainly enough to finish them off... but did it?

If I had to guess I'd say you have made balut. (bah-loot)

but gosh, I've been wrong twice I think....

At this point there is not much else you can do but wait and see, taking them out repeatedly and candling to check for viability could cause just as much harm. My advice would be to let them continue and hope for the best (and maybe have a little talk with Darling Daughter).

Let them go to the end. You have no way of knowing if the embryo contained in the egg reached that temperature. Over a 6 hour period it is possible that it did not. It would be great if you would report the results of your hatch back to the message board, when the time comes.
