So, I really want chickens NOW. I don't have time to build the coop now because i'm working so hard on my garden. Do you think it's stupid to get and fix up something like this: http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/bnc/for/2290114433.html for the next few months until i can finish up in the garden and start on the coop (in the fall). It would be for 4 hens so this is just under what is what I think is the minimum, healthy size. Maybe just get two hens for now? Then I would build the run as it would be for later, which I could just this inside of. I'd need to add a roost and a nesting box.

Is this a stupid idea? Waste of time? Mean to the chickens? It doesn't get very hot here, nor very cold (they would have anew house before winter anyways). Cleaning it would be the worst part of it for now.

thoughts?

I sure wouldn't pay $70 for it.

I feel your pain though. I have seven biddies that are going to be flying around in our dining room in a matter of days and I don't have anywhere to put them yet. This is my busy time (read stressed out to head exploding level) at work so I think I'm going to hire somebody to build me an outside brooder.

Oh no definitely wouldn't pay for it. Just the idea...

I should probably just wait and build a real one...
