? temps in still air vs. fan incubators?

What is the temp suppose to be for still air incubation? people told me it was 99.5 and then some are saying 101 i thought 99.5 was still air myself..?

We have actually done some research on this topic. In a hova bator/little giant incubator the temperature can vary 5 degrees or more from top -> bottom -> sides. By installing a circulated air fan kit you can bring this difference down to 1 degree or less.

As a general rule, if you are going to incubate with a still air incubator follow the following guidelines:
1) Don't put your eggs up next to the sides (group them mor in the center of the incubator)
2) Watch out for hot spots in your incubator (if you are dealing with larger eggs like a goose egg, you may need to be careful around the heating element)
3) Use multiple thermometers or I prefer digital thermometer/hygromters to measure the temp in different locations.
