I'm very tempted to get some hatching eggs-- for Delawares and Giant blue Cochins... DH would definitely kill me (aka sigh, roll his eyes and say I have an egg problem)

Help me resist!

Ah, temptations! You've come to the right place!

BYC words of wisdom: Succumb to temptation immediately. It saves time.

Happy hatching!

Unfortunately, I live in the suburbs, so I have a max. of 24 fowl permitted in my backyard. I can only pawn so many off on my MIL...

Giant blue cochins are amazing. You so have to get a few of those!!!! And I just saw a picture of a Delaware that was gorgeous. A hen or two would be like adding flowers to a chicken garden.

That's how I look at it. My DH's fav. color is blue, so having blue chickens can't hurt, right? And with the Delawares-- any illegal roos would make yummy food

You came WHERE to be discouraged from hatching? To hatchaholics anonymous?

I say go for it. There is nothing that will brighten up a cold dark winter day like eggs in the bator. First, the nerve wracking 3 week wait, then the wonderful sound of the egg rolling around peeping, followed by the zip and pop! And the excitement of at last seeing what the babies look like. Think of your boys! How excited they will be! What a wonderful way to spend the winter. And if you hatch a few hundred more than you have room for just put an add in the paper and share the joy with your neighbors!

You came WHERE to be discouraged from hatching?
