My ten day old polish pullet is walking stiff legged, then she will fall back on her haunches and sit down. She is still eating and drinking when she does decide to get up but it looks like hard work. I have 24 other chicks with her and she is the first to show these symptoms. I read a little about Rickets but couldn't find a clear treatment. I had them on vitamins and electrolites for three days last week and I put them back on them when i discovered the stiff legged chick. Does anyone know what might be going on, or any treatments. Thanks for any help!

The combination of vitamins and electrolytes should be given only in cases of shock or (suspected) dehydration.
Get Avia charge 2000 or other equivalent vitamin supplement (NO electroytes).
You can try polyvisol enfamil (liquid childrens vitamins) three drops in beak once a day for a week then taper off the next ...

Hi,
Thanks for the help. Should I give it to all the chicks or just the stiff one? Also should i use Tri vi sol or polvysol?
Thank you

Use the POLYVISOL Enfamil formulation
You can also offer (free choice) a good quality live culture yogurt (plain with no flavoring)
