But since you did, answer this stupid question for me:

Do runner ducks like the water as much or not as much as a 'regular' duck?

what's good for the goose is good for the gander!

My husband will confirm that I never do what I am told.

so of course I looked. Besides how else do you think I knew that ploy would work? hehehe

Yes, runners like water. They also like mud and anything that will get them dirty. They also like to poop on the patio right there with the other ducks.

'k, great.

Now it's back to deciding between the runners and the cayugas (which I am hesitant to order on the phone cuz I can't pronounce it!).

Or the geese...hmmmmmmm.

I am definitely getting one or the other. I just haven't told my SO this yet.

Can you say surpriseeeeeeeeeeeee?!?!?

sorry to butt in

I've already decided that I'm gonna tell him that the ducks are for his DGS. Everything seems to be okay if I just add that I thought it'd be nice for the DGS.

I just really cannot decide between cayugas and runners. I went to Cackle hatchery's website thinking the great pictures (not drawings like some of the others) would help me decide....I was wrong! They're both beautiful. But I do only want one breed.

Hmm... how about getting black runners? Last year I ordered a few ducks, and got 3 Cayugas for free with my order. One of the Cayugas ended up being the most beautiful little black runner girl. She's one of my very favorite ducks. Not as bright and shiney as the Cayugas, but to me there is nothing better than a flock of bowling pins running through the yard! And the eggs are prettier too.
