I have fed 1 hen Tetroxy HCA-280 For 1week. I now notice it says never to eat the eggs again according to the FDA. I called the company and they said it’s because it passes through the bloodstream not the gut. Has anybody eaten the eggs after a treatment of Tetroxy HCA-280???

Many use oxytetracycline in some hens who get mycoplasma (MG,) a common respiratory disease. It doesn’t cure it, but may help treat symptoms. The egg withdrawal time can vary with each study online. I would wait at least 14 days to eat any eggs, but you may want to wait another week or so if you sell eggs. Here is one article:

The truth is that few antibiotics or other medicines are approved for poultry. But it helps to wait until there are no traces in the egg.

It says the same for most antibiotics, I believe, because they aren't approved for poultry. From everything I've read, it's kind of a judgment call if you want to eat them again after a while.
