Hello! I am a semi-new little chicken keeper in Texas! I'm in a little town called Carthage and I live in a 14 acre farm with my 4 siblings and my 2 parents. Don't worry - i'm not as young as you think I might be
I have a flock of 11 hens who live with their 2 precious roos. I also have another flock that will be integrating with the hen flock soon - as they are only 12 - 13 weeks. I am also currently incubating 22 eggs in my Nurture Right 360 incubator(great one, by the way), and you will probably find me posting threads today for some quick tips for day 21 for the eggs The first flock I mentioned above has 2 Buff Orpingtons, 1 Rhode Island Red, 2 Easter Eggers, 2 Leghorns, 3 Red Stars and 3 Crested Polish (2 roos and 1 hen with this breed). My second flock has 2 Buff Orpingtons, 1 white Orpington, 2 Barred Rocks, 3 Rhode Island Reds (2 roos and 1 pullet in this breed) and 2 Easter Eggers ( 1 roo and 1 pullet). This third set in the incubator is a surprise hatch. In my spare time (when i'm not playing with the chickens) I like to READ READ READ, knit and loom knit hats, gloves, etc. and I also like to make useless crafts I'm excited to join BYC because I have found very informative and helpful info and I want to know as much as the experienced in the forums. I also see that members share a closeness to each other as well as to their lovely chicken buddies. I would like to share or have that closeness to the members in these forums as well as my chickens. I can't wait to learn more from BYC!!
