Some of you may have read my post about how im new to the love for chickens and how I cant actually have them in my back yard. I have permission from the owner of an unusable house (half blown down) to use the land seems how nothing is going on and they dont want to do anything with it. It already has a coop but im really wanting to tweak it to better fit my future birdies and as you can tell it needs a little TLC. We live out in predator country and I want to make sure they are safe and comfortable during summers and winters.

Ok so this is the only way I could figure out how to upload. The frame work is pretty soumd which is good with all the strong winds we have frequently. Im thinking about taking off the tin roof and laying plywood on top and then the tin roof again. Also I plan on making a floor for when it rains so they dont get all wet out of pallets.. havent figured out how yet. And im adding a run area so they can stretch and not be cooped in the coop. Covered of course. There is tons of supplies laying around out here. A roll of chicken wire and a roll of what I call rabbit wire which is on the coop currently. Lots of sheet metal/tin. There is even a barn in the back with stables but im not too sure if they could be used and its a pain to get back there. I plan on visiting my girls every morning on our way out and evening too if needed. Should I keep their food in my car to make it easier like in a bucket or something. And I plan on taking fresh water every day also. What else would I need to-do to make this suitable and protected. What do I need? Is it large enough?
