I just want to say thank you to the member who provided the video of the broomstick method of euthanasia.

I had to do an emergency put down, as my rooster who already had one leg… and survived for years, about a month ago discovered he got Bumblefoot in two areas and I was able to clean up the one area that healed, but the secondary area I was able to see tendons and feel bone. A lot of dead, black stuff. I was going to take him to a vet tomorrow… But seeing another day of flopping around and damaging his wings I just couldn’t anymore.

The broomstick method for me was very quick and efficient. The only two things I would stress but the video though not in English, displayed.… Hang the bird upside down by two legs, it seems to help calm a little… Do not put the bird on its back, lay it Chest down… And put the broomstick at the base of the skull. Then all I did is stand on the broomstick quickly with both hands jerk upward. I just stood on the stick for a few extra seconds and jerked two or three extra times just to make sure it was completed.

Thank you again… It did not give me opportunity to think about, it was one and done. Blessed to all who has had to put down their animals for one reason or another… And a special heartfelt blessing for the ones who had to do it themselves.

Fly high Rooster, fly high❤️

Always tough, been there myself, but if that much suffering is involved I consider it an act of love to help them end the suffering... 😢
