Thank you very much for the warm welcome BYC. My daughter and I just started raising chickens last summer. She has the sweetest chickens I have ever seen and can even hold her rooster on his back cradled in her arms with her nose against his beak without so much as a wiggle or a peck. We started with a small flock of just 10 last year. After a horrible winter with over 40 days with wind chills @ -20 or below and two separate visits from coyotes, we were down to 4 by spring. We are now back up to 8 and I am about to get an order in for a few more chicks before it gets to cold. i have referenced your website often and am hoping with the great advice I've seen here we have the same flock in the spring as we move into another winter.
Thanks again
Kristi

Welcome to BYC, Kristi. Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm sorry for your losses. Hopefully you have secured your chickens against predators so that the same thing doesn't happen again. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. What kind of chickens do you have?

Welcome to BYC! Enjoy the site and don't hesitate to ask about any queries. Sorry for your losses.

Welcome to BYC!

x2 on Michael O'Shay's advice to secure your coop/run against predators if you haven't already. Good luck with your birds and if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Nice to have you join us!

glad you joined us.

Better luck with your new flock additions. Absolutely agree, you need to try to secure their environment to protect against predators, but am sure you are already doing so.
