I just wanted to thank everyone who has answered my questions and taken the time to give advise. As a new chicken owner this site and it's kind and knowledgable members made my venture into chicken hood stress free. I got my 8 girls and one roo last night around 8 pm and introduced them to their new home. They have made it home instantly and much to my surprise and excitement they each layed a gorgeous egg by mid day today. Even more exciting was the fact that they all layed eggs in 5 of the 6 custom nesting boxes I built for them. I guess putting a couple of blown out Easter eggs I had left over did the trick in getting them in the boxes. The one that had tie die color fake eggs in had 3 fresh eggs in it.

Just another quick update. My hens laid 8 more today. Im flabbergasted.
