It's really raining here today so I haven't been outside and the chickens are just hanging out in their run. I turn on the chicken cam to check up on them and I see my GLW Munchkin banging the food dish against the hardwire. I know my daughter filled it this morning so I knew there was food in it. It's strange behavior so I bundled up and went out to check. Turns out the rain had caked the food to an almost solid state and they couldn't get any more. I am so happy I was able to see it on the camera (I have blinks) so I knew there was a problem. Poor things attacked it once I emptied the soaked food and refilled it. I attached a pic of the run. You can't see the food but it's hanging from the chain behind the water.

Be very very careful with feed getting wet.
I highly suggest you look into building something that will prevent the food from getting wet again because this is a perfect place to grow mold which could be deadly.

I'm looking forward to get cams. So I can tell if a predator is attacking or to see if they have water or even for things like this!

Thanks all! We have a roof over the run.
We also have another feeder (rentacoop 20lb) that we were being over cautious on using until they got bigger but we may just be using it sooner than we thought. They are 14 weeks so I will be okay for them. It will keep it dry. Thanks for all your suggestions!!
