I have been lurking for some time more because i have been busy than anything else.
Just wanted to thank every one from the ot thread to ff thread and others i used in my research. Here is the story, my kids are in ffa at school this year and i needed lots of info for their projects and you all mode a great project very successful endeavor possible. My avatar is me and my son working on the brooder. We used some doors and lumber we got for free. So the projects started off on the right foot. Love the free. Then we built the pen to keep the chickens in. Our porch is about six feet off the ground so we buried some tin sheet that were laying around and strung up some 1x2 wire and wala we have a pen that is very well ventilated. Anyhow we are 5 weeks into our broiler project now. The birds are on ff and doing very well. This has gone very well thanks to the great members here. Al and Fred thanks for your great wisdom and fine recipe for finishing the birds, beekissed and shadowmane for the ff knowledge and application. And a host of many others i can not hope to list as the list would be huge. I am sorry to those i did not list and there are many, but if your are a member and post on any of these threads i have gobbled up your knowledge and have put it to good use. I will say this i seems as if i am doing all this for my kids, but it is not the case. I gathered the info and presented them options on what to do. They make all the decisions and so far have done a great job of it. So in closing thanks again, and two more weeks to go till the county show and auction. Now i start researching on what kind of laying flock we will get next. You know chicken math...
