I hope I’ve attached these photo files correctly. I’m still learning to navigate this website (and loving all the information and helpful people!)
These four chicks hatched on March 22 Meyer Hatchery. They are from the Miscellaneous Rare Breed collection. I have tried to guess what they are but would like to know what y’all think. The two greys are different. One has a dark hood and the other doesn’t. It was obvious from the time they were day old.the first chick started as a caramel color, the second and third as gray and the last started as solid yellow.

#1 may be a speckled Sussex.

#2 looks like a lavender Orpington

#3 is some type of hybrid, maybe olive egger or one of the other 'egger' types.

#4 I am not sure about this one. It doesn't seem to fit with any of the breeds Meyer has listed, which may mean that it is one of the layer hybrids. It looks something like a Salmon Faverolles but I see no beard or feathered legs.

I wondered if #3 could also be some kind of Maran? I was hoping #2 was a lavender Orpington! And I would love a speckled Sussex. Thank you!

I don't think 3 is a Marans. It looks to have a beard and it's uneven color suggests it is a hybrid. I think it is an Olive egger or another layer hybrid of colored eggs. But time will tell.
