I’m Fizzlecat, and I’m in Central Alabama. I have loved chickens all my life, since helping my Grandmother with hers many years ago. I’ve had chickens of my own for 30 or more years, but there is still so much more one can learn and share! I presently have Barred Rocks, Buff Orpingtons, Rhode Island Reds, standard Cochins and Easter Eggers, one Black Australorp hen that has spurs, & I just adopted a beautiful blue roo of unknown parentage, which I hope to one day figure out! My hubby and I also raise goats and angus cattle, and have three donkeys and four Great Pyrenees guardian dogs watching over everything, so it stays pretty busy around here. I love to garden and can what we grow. My “have to” job is nursing instructor at a local community college. I hope to be able to retire soon and be with my animals full time!

G’Day from down under Fizzlecat :frow Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
