Hi welcome to BYC, I can see how the chooks can have helped. Both my parents had various forms of dementia and alzheimers it was not easy looking after them. I am In RSA but they were UK. Flying up and down was a nightmare. I bought mum a cat which helped alot. Anyway you have more family to look after now and chooks are a full time job.

From my personal experience just to have something to love and stroke is good for dementia, but can get difficult when the 'animal' wants to leave.

All luck to you and thinking of you = this is amazing site if you have any problems

If you haven't already done so, check out the Learning Center. There are a lot of good articles there to help you out. And if you have questions, feel free to ask.

Good luck to you, thanks for joining us!

Welcome!

I am pleased that the girls have been a help for your husband and send you both best wishes.

I hope you enjoy BYC. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends
