A few days ago I posted about being frustrated with not having a church to go to, and thanks to all of your encouragement and some guidence from the man upstairs, next Sunday I'm going to try out a new church in town. One of my mom's really good friends goes there, and she used to take me to church (a different one) all the time when I was little. If she likes it, I think I should check it out.

I'm also going to ask about being baptised. Its something I really want to do ASAP, so I'm going to see if I can be baptised without being a member of the church. I should be able to, but I'm not going to assume until I ask.

Honey if you want to, you can baptize yourself. In our church, Calvary Chapel, we do it publically to show our committment to all. And it is not just pastors that do the baptizing either. A short prayer is said and we get dunked in the coldest water this side of the North Pole.

Remember too that if you don't feel comfortable in the church you go to Sunday, there are many, many more to choose from. Baptism is discussed toward the end of the book of John if you would like to read about it first.

ETA: Calvary Chapel doesn't require membership for anyone. There are no members, just a congregation....

I know, I'd just like to do it in a church, with the pastor doing it. Even if he's the only one there, I want someone else to see the commitment too. This is the first church I'm going to try out, so if it doesn't work I have a second one in mind to try.

Congrats! The road to the right church can be frustrating, but also alot of fun and full of discovery. Make the best of every turn down that road.
