we have 13 chickens 1 roo and looking at getting 6 more hens, we also have 3 kids under 6 yrs old. raising chickens for eggs and now we what to add two toms to the group for the end on the year. what kind of turkeys are good eating yet good with chickens, dogs and kids?

I have heard the Heritage breeds are good for slow growing .. Not sure on the best for kids though..

I would say the midget whites are the best eating of the heritage breeds and i have heard they are very calm and do good with children. I have seen in many places that they have won the best tasting turkey in the blind taste thing. Hope this helps!
