The best way to cope with the loss of a chick is to hatch some more?

We just recently lost one of our three chicks. It was fine one minute and gone the next, still not sure what happened. DH says that I should fire up the bator, especially since our silkies have laid over a dozen eggs this week alone. He says it would be a waste not to try and hatch them since we love their parents so much. I only had two that I thought were laying, but I think my older hen is laying now, and possibly one of my cochins? I'm not sure how I feel about hatching again, it's rewarding, but it is so stressful too. Anyone had a similar experience?

i'm so sorry about your baby. i haven't had that experience. my first hatch is incubating right now. hopefully you can hatch some new babies and have some fun doing it. good luck with the other two
