Ohhhhh jeesh!! I have never mailed out chickens before...but today, I sent 3 of the rescues to thier new mommy ( OzarkHen) I know they are going to a great new home.....but listening to them in the box, in the truck.....at the post office....they sounded so scared...so sad...I almost BAWLED!! I wanted to take them back, and tell them it was going to be OK, and they could live here forever and cuddle them and reassure them it was alright. Poor little dears...I know they are so scared. I just cant waite to hear, they are HOME with thier new mommy...and safe. They have been through so much....and they deserve this great home they are going to! GODS SPEED little ones....

I'll never forget a message I received from Bobbi Porto in Florida after she sent 2 silkie hens & a bunch of chicks out to me in California. "Please let me know when they get there so I can breathe again," she wrote. I think that sense of worry is pretty universal - at least for people who truly love chickens. At least you know for sure that they're on their way to an excellent new home.

Poor babies, I think they'll be fine. Most people are animal lovers. I would always peek in at the birds when I worked at the big plant to say hi and make sure they were OK. Let us know how they make out.

Oh Deb, you poor mumma, Our maternal instincts kick in when we send our chickens away!!!
I always get a phone number or email address so I can phone or email them when I think they have arrived.
You will have no problems there. Im glad the weather is settled at present, not too hot for the little cherubs. Dont worry, they will soon forget about their past but I hope they always remember you!!!

This one of the reasons I can't travel anymore. Taking the cat to the kennel is awful. I'm usually apologizing the whole way and promising never to do it again. I lost almost $600 in airfare to SF last summer because I couldn't take the wailing from the cat carrier. Well, plus I'm anti-social and was just looking for a reason to stay home. Too much to do around here anyway.

Hey, I can justify just about anything if I think about it.
