What disease will me chickens get next?! I take real good care of them, they are my pets, they have good quality food, clean water, vitamins, vegetables, kept clean and have plenty of space and free range every day. But they keep getting sick. One thing after another. I am now thinking about stopping keeping chickens for good.
I believe the problem is the large population of village chickens and wild birds coming into my garden and spreading diseases to my flock. Here is the list of what they have had so far...one right after the other.
Scaly leg
Fowl Pox
Infections Bronchitis
and now............Favus!
Apart from these diseases they have also suffered a dog attack, predatory bird eating chicks, and feather mites.
Oh course I will go out and buy all the stuff to treat them. But now I have spent so much time and money on all these problems and I am on the verge of 'throwing in the towel'.
