I thought my kids were much older than they are, but looking at my calendar, they are only 7 weeks. I was adding another couple of weeks to their age! This batch seems to have grown up much faster than my first group.
These pictures aren't the greatest. They had their first adventure into the run and are pretty sure if they smush on top of each other, the one on the outside will get eaten first.
I have two Australorps in this group, and they were supposed to be "premium pullets" but one of them has me questioning. Their tail feathers are pointing down, while the other same age Australorp's feathers are starting to point up. They also have a bit of a "hump" in their feathers right before their tail, which the other Australorp does not. They are also bigger than the other Australorp of the same age. No significant comb development yet.
I honestly wouldn't mind an Australorp rooster, as long as he stays nice. I had to rehome my EE rooster because he was harassing the girls at only 9 weeks old.
