being 10 degrees this morning, 'feeling like -4' I went out to check on my girls and bring them fresh water.
The lone egg (I thought I heard her lay it about an hour earlier) was very cold.
So I gave them their morning seeds, put down the water (last nights waterer was frozen to the blocks, urgh) and grabbed the egg.
Then I noticed the crack.
I cracked it open and put it in the skillet. It was semi frozen I guess.
I managed to make a 'perfect' over-easy.
And the yolk was cold.
is it normal for chickens to not lay as much in the cold?
how do you manage your eggs when it is this stinkin' cold?
