The egg that didnt hatch - Graphic pics

I put 7 eggs in my Little Giant Incubator. One was not fertile, 5 chicks hatched, 1 chick died within 24 hours & 1 egg didnt hatch. 48 hours after the others had hatched we opened up the remaining egg. The chick was dead. We did the sniff test with the egg before we opened it up with no smell but as soon as we cracked the shell we knew it had been dead at least some time. I found the results interesting though sad. We never heard the chick chirp or saw the egg rock. There were no cracks on the shell.

1 out of 6 growing fully an not hatching is about par. Thats a pretty good hatch rate.

awwwh, poor baby!!!

I have an LG also and since my last hatch, have researched and studied temp/humidity on the LG....whew, alot of work...I just set eggs yesterday morning...trying again.

I just had a 50% hatch rate..Temp and humidity were good the whole time....waited for 23 days then opened up the remaining eggs and out of 13 eggs, 10 day fully formed chicks...don't understand it sometimes..it's so dissapointing when everything seemed to be going great...I understand..
