Hey all, small update to my quail drama. Blondie is doing great, pin feathers on the bald spot are coming nicely up (although they’ve started their molt at the same time so my little guy is rather ugly right now) and the females still watch him from the divider rather intently so I may back off on letting him back in right now (he has no interest in the girls, no crowing, etc)
However, I noticed today Ophelia has some smaller missing feather bits with one spot a tad bloody. She and Scarface tussled when I was cleaning out their hutch last week (she jumped onto Scarface when they were in a corner) and I just wanted to make sure that she isn’t in any immediate danger. SHES easily the most flighty of all my birds, and won’t let me near her. (The others let me grab them). Attached are some photos so you can see the set up. I put a bunch of boxes/greens to try and keep them distracted from her.

this is an awkward pic, but you can see on the far right Blondie (his pin feathers are wild right now) Boomer and Scarface (further towards top, by the wood board) Ophelia (grey bird in the wayyyyyy top corner) and Rosetta (her head is right above the feeder.)

so plenty of places to hide, and I parked my butt out here for two hours and saw no fights. Should I set up another divider for Ophelia? Or will she be okay if I haven’t seen any fights?
